Vita Religion was founded by Australian environmental scientist, Guy Lane.

The origins of Guy's ecological spirituality trace back to his late twenties on a sailing trip on his yacht Ophelia on the Queensland coast. Here he had ecophany (an ecological epiphany) through interactions with seabirds called the Brown Booby (Sula leucogaster).

Guy understood that there was a oneness that encompassed himself and the seabird, and that all that lived on Earth formed a part of a greater living being.

Following his environmental science studies, Guy founded a sustainability consulting firm and later sat a Master of Business, majoring in philanthropy and non-profit studies.

Whilst studying his Masters degree, Guy came to understand that the world's religions were ecologically unsustainable because they did not teach oneness with nature, and he considered that there was merit in sharing his spiritual view of the world through a new nature-based religion.

Vita Religion was concieved in August 2016, founded in January 2020, and launched at COP28 in Dubai in December 2023.

Guy first started sharing Vita Religion in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia which is the location of Foundation Pod.
